How can I describe the pleasure that my wife, Gwen, and I have found in our new hobby, pottery? We became interested in this art-form while I was working in Moncure, NC, which is near Sanford. Sanford is pretty much in the geographic center of North Carolina and is a wonderful town located in Lee County.

In Sanford and the surrounding area there are literally hundreds of small potteries operating and producing an astounding array of pottery from the artistic to the functional. One trip to any one of these wonderful shops and you will probably be hooked, too.

But pottery is not all you will find in this area. There are all kinds of artists, musicians, and crafstmen living and working in Chatham and Lee counties and the surrounding areas. Check out my link, The Chatham Studio Tour. This is one event you don't want to miss.

There are many interesting things to see and do in and around Sanford. You are only a hop, skip, and a jump away from Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro and other wonderful places (Moncure for example). Plan a trip there soon. You won't be disappointed.
